ANOTHER POVERTY STRIKEN HIDDEN TALENT STORY OF COOCHBEHAR
By Pradip Kundu (TNI Coochbehar) ~ Edited By R. Subrata (TNI Siliguri)
Webdesk, TNI Coochbehar, 28th May, 2015: There are many unknown hidden talents spread throughout the state, which are unearthed after certain major examinations. Similar to that TNI found Rita Barman, A student of Dewanbose R.N.A High School of Maghpala village under Falimari Gram Panchayet at Nishiganj, Coochbehar. She scored 582 marks in Madhyamik examination this year. Like all others poverty stricken bright student’s stories Rita is of exception. Her father is a daily labourer, whose earnings are not enough to support his family leaving behind his daughter’s expectation of higher study.
Rita’s success is highly indebted to the contribution of her teachers of the school. The head of the institution Ananta Kr. Nath told that Rita belongs to the first generation learner of her family and this success means a lot not only for her but her institution as well. This success will also inspire to other students in near future. Rita’s aspiration is to become a doctor in the future but her anxious eye tells a different story. School teacher Mr. Palash Nandi expressed that he will extend all possible help for her higher study. However, the ray of hope lies on the expression of interest by other people too, who want to extend help for her better future. Let’s hope for the best.
